The blue bluebell has attractive clumps of glossy strap-shaped leaves from which tall stems rise to support the profuse, pendulous, bell-shaped deep purple-blue flowers. The flower clusters consist of a maximum of 15 flowers with reverted tips and hang elegantly from the stem. It can thrive in sun and shade, but the colors look best in a spot with some shade.
